Each month we comment on the economy, the budget or other business matters. This month’s newsletter is focused on the staff at Jack Ross and JacRox, our online cloud accounting brand.
We are very pleased to announce the appointment of a new Senior Tax Manager, Christine Wise. Christine joined us in early July and is replacing Leon Smith, who has been with us for the last twelve years. Leon is a father of two young children and he has decided the commute into the city is no longer for him. He kindly informed us in the Spring, leaving sufficient time to find a replacement and to ensure a lengthy handover period. Leon will leave us in late September. Christine is more than capable of taking over. She is a fully qualified Chartered Tax Adviser (the highest level of tax qualification in the UK), and comes from a firm of similar size and structure.
We also have other promotions to announce. Tor Stringfellow has been promoted to Senior Manager with overall responsibility for the accounts and audit department. Tor has been with us for three years and has impressed partners, staff and clients. We also pleased to announce that Kieran Williams has been promoted to Assistant Manager. Kieran joined us a graduate and qualified as a chartered accountant in 2014. Some of you will know of Surya George, an assistant manager, who will be going on maternity leave in September to have her third child. She will be back next year, and we hope that she makes the most of her time away from the office to spend with her young children.
The summer Finance Bill should be enacted next month and we will then have clarification on the new “dividend tax” and the effect on family owned businesses. In the meantime if you have queries on the new dividend tax, or the proposed withdrawal of higher rate tax relief on mortgage interest for buy to let landlords, please get in touch.
