Audit and Client Manager

Jack Ross Chartered Accountants, Barnfield House, Salford, Manchester
Reporting to: Talha Raja, Audit Director

Jack Ross has been advising North West businesses for 75 years. We act for owner-managed companies, groups and not-for-profit entities, and we are a Xero Gold partner running our own cloud accounting platform, JacRox. This is a qualified-level appointment: you will hold your own portfolio and take audits from planning through to sign off, working directly with the Audit Director.

Responsibilities

  • Lead audit assignments end to end, from planning and risk assessment through fieldwork to completion, reporting to the Audit Director.
  • Act as principal day-to-day contact for a portfolio of clients, covering year-end and management accounts, VAT, and advisory queries as they arise.
  • Prepare and review statutory accounts under FRS 102 and FRS 105, including group accounts and consolidations.
  • Prepare and review corporation tax computations and returns.
  • Review the work of trainees and junior staff, and support their training and professional development.
  • Deal with HMRC, solicitors, banks and other professional advisers on client matters.
  • Contribute to workflow planning, deadline management and process improvement across the audit and accounts team.

Requirements

  • ACA or ACCA qualified.
  • Substantial UK practice experience across audit fieldwork and accounts preparation.
  • Experience of running a client portfolio and of reviewing or supervising the work of others.
  • Confident across cloud accounting software; we use Xero extensively.
  • Experience of CCH is desirable but not essential.
  • Full UK driving licence.

Audit Semi Senior

Are you an aspiring audit professional with a desire to progress in accountancy and audit? Our growing practice is looking for an enthusiastic Audit Semi Senior to join our Audit and Accounts team in Manchester.

Responsibilities

  • Undertake audit fieldwork and assist the Audit Manager throughout the audit process.
  • Lead small audits from planning to final sign off.
  • Supervise junior staff.
  • Prepare statutory accounts, including group accounts and accounts under IFRS.
  • Prepare corporation tax returns.

Requirements

  • ACA or ACCA part qualified (preferred).
  • A substantial background in audit (three years or more).
  • Experience of working in a practice environment.
  • Full UK driving licence.

Part Qualified Chartered Accountant (ACA/ACCA)

Are you a part-qualified chartered accountant looking for your next challenge? We currently have a position available at our Manchester office.

Responsibilities

  • Accounts preparation for a varied and interesting portfolio of limited company, sole trader and partnership clients.

Requirements

  • ACA or ACCA part qualified.
  • At least two years of accounts preparation experience.
  • Experience with Xero is preferred but not required.
